About
Nick Dawes is mixing engineer and musician with over 15 years experience in the industry. I've been creatively involved with music for as long as I can remember and began with making Breakbeat tape loops and four track recordings. I took up the guitar and enjoyed songwriting and production with the early computer based sequencers gaining my first real experience in mixing.
After studying Electronic Music at University, I continued to write and perform pop and rock music while based in London, UK. In 2004 I moved to Nice (South of France) for a fresh outlook (and a bit of sunshine!) and quickly progressed in my career gaining experience through extensive gigging and touring.
Throughout this time I was continually mixing and working towards owning my own studio in Nice. After completing my first remote mixing session in 2008 with the advent of global high speed internet connections, I quickly realised the exciting potential to receive sessions from anywhere and since then I've have worked with hundreds of artists from all over the world.
From opening my first studio in 2008, I have been working towards building a studio to my own specifications, and I have just recently set up a brand studio near to Cannes with a purpose built mixing room incorporating a 40 channel Amek desk.
Although I'm now mixing full time I continue to write and produce music for sync licensing. I still perform live and continue to take up new instruments to extend my musical knowledge.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my site. I look forward to mixing your next project soon!
